The Saturated Calomel Reference Electrode can also be known as Mercury/ Mercurous Chloride, or simply the S.C.E. Mercury (I) chloride is a chemical compound with the formula Hg₂Cl₂ (also known as the mineral calomel or mercurous chloride). For laboratory use, the Koslow S.C.E. has excellent ion transfer and low noise.

Reference Electrode Potential:

  • 244 mV vs. Normal Hydrogen Electrode (NHE)
  • 410 mV vs. Mercury Sulfate Reference Electrode (M.S.E.)
  • 440 mV vs. Silver / Silver Sulfate

APPLICATIONS:

  • Electro-analysis
  • Battery maintenance & testing
  • Corrosion testing
  • Electro-Analytical studies

STEPS TO VERIFY VIABILITY OF ELECTRODE:

  1. Create a ~5mm layer of electrode solution in a beaker
  2. Place two electrodes of the same type into the pool of solution
  3. Compare the readings using a volt meter
  4. If they are within 10 mV of variation, it is good to go!

FEATURES:

  • Carry Case
  • Electrode Refill Solution Electrolyte 30 ml
  • Laboratory Electrode Storage Bottle
  • 2-Pack of Replacement Porous Tips
  • 2 Heat Shrinkable Sleeves
  • Electrode Filling Pipette
  • Absorbent Foam
  • Maintenance Manual
